Best Places to Dance in Halifax

In the mood for a night out?  You’ve come to the right place!  We’ve got the scoop on the city’s best dance spots.

1. The Seahorse Tavern
Address:
2037 Gottingen St., Halifax

Known citywide for their amazing dance parties, The Seahorse hosts fun theme nights like Retro Night, That 90s Night, and It Felt Like a Kiss (Motown, Stax, and Soul!).  The dance party continues upstairs at live music venue, The Marquee.

2. The Marquee Ballroom
Address:
 2037 Gottingen St, Halifax

Located above The Seahorse, this venue hosts “quality National, International, and East coast music.”  It’s a great place to enjoy a night out and take in some awesome music- just be sure to book your ticket in advance!

3. Lion and Bright
Address:
2534 Agricola St, Halifax

This hip café/wine bar has recently begun bringing in live music on Saturday nights and opening up a dance floor.  It’s the perfect spot for the cool, hipster crowd, or anyone who wants a slightly more refined place to bust a move.

4. Halifax Ale House
Address: 1717 Brunswick St., Halifax

With their historic building, old fashion bartender uniforms, and packed dance floor, the Alehouse is a really fun mix of traditional and modern.  Popular amongst the university crowd, but great for all ages, you’ll find live bands and great music here 7 nights a week.

5. Pacifico
Address:
 1505 Barrington St , Halifax

Pacifico is basically Halifax’s answer to a Vegas/Miami type nightclub (they don’t call themselves a “Party Playground” for nothing!).  Come here for bottle service, a sleek décor, and lots and lots of dancing.

6. Bearly’s House of Blues
Address:
1269 Barrington St, Halifax

For a fun low-key night, stop by Bearly’s for some Kansas City-Style BBQ and stick around for live music and dancing.  There is a slightly older crowd at Bearly’s than many of the downtown dance spots, so it’s a popular option for the 30+ crowd.

7. Durty Nelly’s
Address:
5221 Sackville St., Halifax

A Halifax icon! Start your evening with drinks on the patio before heading inside to hit the always-busy dance floor.  You’ll find great live bands Tuesday-Sunday playing Maritime hits and other classics.

Originally catering specifically to Halifax’s thriving LGBTQ+ community, Reflections has evolved into a “no labels, no rules” bar where everyone is welcome and encouraged to be themselves.  Oh, and did we mention it’s one of the hottest dance spots in the city?

10. The Dome
Address: 1740 Argyle St., Halifax

A mecca for a younger crowd, the Dome is a Halifax institution, and certainly not for the faint of heart!  With its huge dance floor, the drinks are flowing and the music is pumping all night. For a slightly more relaxed vibe, grab a drink at the attached bar, Cheers, or if you’re in the mood for a swankier night, head upstairs to Taboo.
