Where to find the TASTES OF FALL in Halifax!

Every season holds a special place in my heart: the tulips of spring, the warmth of summertime and the first snow of winter.

However, there’s just something about fall that makes it just a bit better than the rest. Vibrant colours, the perfectly crunchy leaves on the sidewalk, a Thanksgiving turkey, and the flavors of the season – apples, pumpkin spice, cider with a hint of cinnamon, the list goes on.

Here are three of the best places to find seasonal flavours in Halifax:

Scanway Bakery – Scanway has an ever-changing cupcake and donut menu that never fails to make me drool. With chocolate cupcakes and pumpkin spice cream cheese, pumpkin glazed donuts and pumpkin cake on the menu, no matter when you show up there’s a good chance you’re going to find a seasonal treat.

The Old Apothecary – While pumpkin spice might get all the glory, apples are a real fall treat – especially when they’re plentiful and locally sourced from the Annapolis Valley. If you’re an apple fan, don’t miss out on the Old Apothecary – they’ve got hot apple cider and often have apple cider donuts, as well as pastries that feature seasonal fruit. Get in there before the seasons change!

Humani-T Café – If a seasonal hot drink is what you’re in search of, but you’re not the biggest coffee fan, then head to Humani-T café. While they’ll have the usual seasonal drinks you’re looking for, they’ve also got a pumpkin chai that sounds pretty tasty. As an avid tea drinker I can’t wait to give this a try!
